Merlin was the most special cat I have ever met. She was a member of the family in every sense possible. She was given to me (Amanda) after my very first break up as a freshman. We instantly bonded I remember she would sit in the hoods of my sweatshirt while I would do things around the house. She loved climbing into little spaces like dresser drawers and shoe boxes. As I grew up so did she she was always by my side when I was home and when I had my own family and moved out from my parents she came with me. From the time my daughter was a baby anytime she would cry Merlin would appear to check on her. She loved to sleep in my daughters bunk bed when she got a little older and it always made my daughter feel safe. My husband who was originally not a cat lover when we met fell absolutely in love with her. He attributes his love for cats to having met her. She was also very sassy, anytime our dog would try to play she quickly would let her know she was not interested. She was always with us even at dinner or when we would watch a movie to even bedtime. She was fond of giving little forehead kisses I will never forget those. She will be so deeply missed. She took up a large presence in our home and her loss will be one we will always feel. I am so grateful for the kind people at Mercadante who brought a sense of peace in handling her loss with compassion.
